As a holistic health coach, what brings me the greatest joy is being a part of someone’s journey to better health. This site is a place for me to share the ways real food, natural remedies and therapies have had a positive influence on my life and health.
I became a massage therapist in 1988 when I found an amazing holistic massage school. It was at The New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics that I was introduced to healthy living using the tools and gifts from nature. Along with massage therapy and other bodywork modalities, I learned hydrotherapy - using water in all its forms as healing therapies, basic homeopathy and herbal medicine, flower remedies, and colonics.
After massage school I studied with Dr. Vasant Lad at The Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque earning an Ayurvedic Practitioner certificate. While attending school I was hired to work in their Pancha Karma department as a massage therapist, where I witnessed some incredible healing using the principles of Ayurveda. Afterward, I stayed in NM and studied herbal medicine with Dr. Tieraona Low-Dog, at her former herb school while working with clinical herbalist, Mitch Coven at Vitality Works, one of the largest herbal medicine manufacturers in the U.S.
My coaching life began organically during the 30+ years I practiced massage therapy. The conversations with my weekly clients would always steer to diet, natural therapies and lifestyle choices to feel healthy and happy.
In 2106 I became a certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and the following year became a certified Culinary Nutrition Expert through the Academy of Culinary Nutrition.
I have worked as a corporate Wellness Program Coordinator since 2010 and am a certified Metabolic Syndrome Expert and a certified smoking cessation leader through the Respiratory Health Association in Chicago, IL.
I stay immersed and up to date on nutrition and health topics by attending conferences, workshops, classes, and courses, listening to health podcasts, and reading books to expand my knowledge. My approach to health is - Staying healthy naturally. Eating simply, from nature.
